The first BOEING 777X of the LUFTHANSA Group is scheduled to be delivered late summer 2020 for entry into service in the fall. Carsten Spohr, the group's CEO, says that the first of the 20 aircraft on order will be for its German operations and that the precise allocation of the fleet will be decided early 2019. The first seven will be without first class, since they are intended to replace aircraft that do not have one. The fourteen options are part of the negotiations with Airbus and BOEING to acquire new long-haul aircraft and are being considered alongside the 787 and A350.
