ESA plans to launch Cheops, its Characterising Exoplanet Satellite, between 15 October and 14 November 2019 from Europe's spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, with a satellite from the Italian Cosmo-SkyMed constellation as co-passenger. The launch will be carried out on board a Soyuz rocket operated by ARIANESPACE. Built by AIRBUS DEFENCE & SPACE, Cheops will study exoplanets by observing stars known to host them.
